I am not a New York City resident—and am not an enrolled NYC Democrat. Yet, 5 years ago, Councilwoman James was one of the very few local officials who PERSONALLY responded to an overture for local elected officials interest in and awareness of a company that I was serving as marketing director for. Quickly grasping the value of an affordable community-based supplier for small homeowners in her community, Letitia James personally responded to our reach-out, and proved to be a personable, focused and very interested local official. I wish this campaign good luck! Letitia James has the obvious high level of community responsiveness that seems perfectly suited for the duties of the Public Advocate.

Since your running for Public Advocate, I would like you to know that, sometimes the Intellectual Disabled and Physical Disabled individuals are not part of the public. The disabled is ignored and more than often people make discision for them and have no idea what their needs are. I struggle with getting services for my daughter and medical/adaptive equipment that are appropriate for her through Medicaid. I know most Disabled don’t have the capacity to vote, but that doesn’t mean that they should be ignore like they are not part of the public. Their needs are greater but even to get increase hours for their care on the weekends when families like me need help or a break. Please include us and help change the lives of the developmentally disabled and/or physically handicapped

I called in to your office to request help with the BP car wash at 1525 Bedford blocking the sidewalk and the man answering the phone tried to talk me out of it as if they had a right to do this because this was once a car showroom avenue. Well this was once farmland too and you don’t see a herd of pigs! this car wash had the sidewalk today completley blocked with 3 cars so I had to walk in the street to get around. you suggested I use the other side of street!!? What are you saying …does this bussiness have rights to public property just because it washes cars? Please help control this bussiness and get it to do its work on its own ;and not the sidewalk.
